about o mamma moon

healthy women, healthy families, a healthy planet

A healthy environment begins with healthy individuals in happy families and strong communities. When you invest in your well being, you are investing in your family, your community and your environment.

I aim to keep all of my services accessible while supporting sustainable organic, natural and local practices when possible. Our pillows, bolsters and blankets are made from natural and organic fabrics. Non-toxic biodegradable products keep our space and linens clean. To help us minimize our impact on the earth through laundering, we do ask that you bring your own mats, towels and blankets when possible.

"The Vedic seers teach that a women's shakti - her power, fertility and nurturing spirit - is linked to the lunar cycle and the sacred substance of Mother Moon...The shakti energy provides a broad foundation for healing physical and emotional wounds. Every cell, tissue and memory of a woman's body is permeated with the billions of years of memory and energy from the Divine Mother's shakti. Her milk flows through our breasts and in the fullness of her moon, her nectar courses through our wombs, thus determining the time ovulation. During pregnancy, as our bellies swell with life, we emulate Mother Shakti growing into plumpness, from the sliver of her crescent moon into the roundness of her full moon." - From "The Path of Practice - A Women's Book of Ayurvedic Healing," p.95, Swamini Mayatitananda (formerly Bri. Maya Tiwari).
